Bob was the son of Frank and Doris (Graham) Ryan. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Arlene (Gregory) Ryan, son Sean Ryan, daughter Jenny (Ryan) Wright, son in law Chris Wright, sister Barbara and the joy of his life, grandson Ryan Wright. He was predeceased by his parents and brother Patrick Ryan.
Bob worked for many years as an Oceanographic Technician at Bedford Institute of Oceanography. Always interested in math and science, he never met a math problem he couldn’t solve.
In his personal life, he met the challenge of being married to a nurse working many all hours shifts by being a very hands on dad and husband, from diapers to cooking his special “head recipes “.
In his later years, he took up golf and spent 2-3 days a week at Hartlin Golf Course, although he would be the first to say that he never perfected his game. He was very involved in the Boy Scout movement all his life, from joining as a young boy to leadership as an adult. He organized many camps and was often the camp cook.
Final arrangements will be private immediate family only. Cremation has taken place. Bob would appreciate any donations in his name to be made to the Parkinson’s Society of Canada.
Special thanks to the staff of Parkstone Enhanced Care, Princess Lane ward for their wonderful care of Bob and compassion/support to the family. A special thank you to nurses Heather, Shiny, and Dr. Angela Morash
