Whalen, Rita, age 91 of Halifax, passed away on March 9, 2014, at Northwood Center, Halifax. Born on May 4, 1922 in Bedeque, PEI. She was the daughter of the late Daniel and Agelicia Arsenault. She is survived by her children, Victor (Joyce), Charlottetown, PEI, Flona, Hatchet Lake, David (Jackie), Sambro, Kevin (Cammy), Hatchet Lake, Janice (Miles), White’s Lake; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren. Sister, Maria, Ontario; brothers, Russell, Ontario, and Gussie, PEI. Predeceased by her husband, Edgar; sisters, Matilda and Cecelia; brother, Ernest.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, (455-0531) on Friday, March 28, from 6-8 pm, with memorial service to be held in Snows Memorial Chapel on Saturday, March 29, at 1:00 pm.
