PROCTOR, RITA MARIE, passed peacefully at home on January 29, 2024. Born in Halifax on June 8, 1944 Rita spent her early years in Dartmouth until she and her sister were placed in St Joseph's Orphanage in 1951. The following years were very difficult for both her and her sister, Minnie. Both left the orphanage in 1957 to live with relatives. Rita spent many years living with her sister until marriage to Ken, the love of her life in 1981. Rita is survived by her husband of 42 years Ken, niece Joanne Bernard (Annette), great nephew Taylor and great-great niece Kalliope. She was predeceased by her parents Elias and Mary Sampson, sister Minnie and brothers in law Joe and James.
