Norma Mary Stone

Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of Malcolm "Mackie" and Priscilla Viola Burke and is survived by her son Kevin (Theresa)/(Debra-Lynn), sister Doris (Martin) Surrette, brother Joseph (Helena), grandchildren James (Trish), Allison, great grandchild Matthew, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband James P. "Perry" and sister Audrey (Daniel) MacIntyre.

She worked for CMHC and retired in 1993. In her leisure time she enjoyed anything Irish, travelling, family reunions and card games, team bowling, any chance to dance, shopping trips to the States and checking out craft shows and yard sales with her dear friend Rosalie and niece Michele. A dedicated church volunteer for over 30 years, she never met a four legged animal she didn't like, often caring for the neighborhood strays that always seemed to find her.

There will be no visitation at her request. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 6th at 10:00 am in J. A. Snow Funeral Home Chapel, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, NS, with burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SPCA, Christian Children's Fund, Bide Awhile Animal Shelter, or a charity of your choice.

Special thanks to the staff of the Admiral Long Term Care Centre and Dr. Addie for the exemplary care provided. The Family also wishes to acknowledge the efforts of nieces, Donna, Judy and Michele MacIntyre for their ongoing care and support that they provided during her illness.
