Marion Mary Pompa

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother Marion Mary Pompa at Maplestone Enchanced Care, on October 15, days short of her 99th birthday. Born in Boston in 1924, she was the daughter of Robert and Emily (Kelly) Harland. Moving to Nova Scotia as a young child Mom later met and married Ernie Pompa, the love of her life. Mom was lovingly devoted to her family and her faith. While she was a member of St. Patrick’s Church she took on numerous duties, and was Sacristan for many years. Mom treasured her family and was always there to help when needed. Her gentle ways and lovely smile endeared her to all who knew her. She is survived by her son Robert (Paula); daughters Ann (Peter) Dunsworth, Kathryn (Steven) McCarvell; Grandchildren Stephanie Dunsworth, Geoffrey Dunsworth, Jessica McCurdy, Scott McCarvell, Robyn Pompa, Lucas Pompa; Great grandchildren Maddox, Joshua, Alex, Rue, and Arlo. She was pre-deceased by her husband Ernest Pompa and siblings Bernadette, Theresa, Anne (Michael) Burke, Elizabeth Harland, Robert (Sharon) Harland, and Joseph Harland. We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the wonderful staff at Maplestone for their loving, attentive care to Mom. Donations in Marion’s memory may be made to a charity of choice.
