Born in Riverport, NS to Robie Fenwick and Vera Mae (Ritcey) Creaser. As a child she loved riding her bike to Hirtles beach. Marie attended Lunenburg Academy and Mount Allison University (BA). She began work at the YWCA of Halifax, finishing as Executive Director. She met her husband “Brother” at the Y in a Paul Jones dance and they married in 1953. One of the first residents of Sherbrooke Dr they spent 56 happy years with good neighbours. She and her husband enjoyed membership at the Oakfield Golf Club, and after retirement wintered in New Smyrna, FL for a number of years.
Predeceased by Walter Edward “Brother” Rowe Oct 2011. Survived by her sister Ruby Prest, Port Hope ON; daughter, Linda Rowe Fitch & Dr. William Fitch (Riverview, NB) and their children: Katherine Fitch Loza (Jorge Loza Vazquez), Halifax and William Rowe Fitch (Kanako Minagawa Fitch), Tokyo; the great-grandchildren gave her much joy and entertainment; Anamaria & Nicolas Loza, and Emma & Lewis Fitch. Also survived by her extended family of Rowes and Prests. She appreciated being embraced as part of the Fitch family. She treasured her longtime friends who were a great support to one another.
A member of the Rockingham United Church, the funeral will be held there Friday Feb.11 at 2pm (by invitation) and will be streamed on the RUC youtube channel.
