HUNTER, Margaret Weston Fry (Swain) – the death occurred on October 11, 2012 in the Halifax Infirmary, V.G. Site after a struggle with cancer. Born in Halifax, N.S., Margaret was the daughter of the late Norman McLean Swain and Ella May (Fry) Swain. She is survived by two sons, David Norman, Halifax, and Donald Lee of Stowe, Vermont (Julie); one grandson, Alexander Lawrence of New York; a sister, Lillian (Clair) MacMillan, of Fredericton; brother, The Rev. John H., of Halifax and many nieces and nephews, cousins and aunts. Margaret attended Queen Elizabeth High School, the Halifax County Academy, and was employed with the Sun Life Assurance of Halifax, The Children’s Aid Society in Saint John, N.B., the University of King’s College, and the Diocesan Synod of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. These years at Kings and the Diocesan Centre gave her many years of happiness and lasting friendships. Margaret devoted her life to raising her sons of whom she was extremely proud. Her faith played a very important part in her life and she served in different groups and out-reach programs. She loved to travel and she and her brother John made some wonderful trips. A visitation will be held in the Cathedral Church of All Saints, Martello St., on Sunday, October 14th from 7-9pm. A Thanksgiving Service for Margaret’s life will be held also at the Cathedral on Monday, October 15th at 11:00am, with a reception to follow.
