Lillian Catherine Migel, 89, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on September 3, 2019, at the QE II Health Sciences Centre. Born in Halifax, February 28, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Jason Wentzell and Lillian (Monk) Wentzell.
It was in Halifax where she met her husband, Paul Joseph Migel, who was from the former Czechoslovakia (Slovak Republic).
Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Carolyn (Migel) Chiasson; son-in-law, Peter Hyslop; brothers Alexander, Arthur, William, and Ken. She is survived by her children, Dennis (Melvina), Burlington, Ontario; Kathy (George), Halifax; Paul (Janice), Halifax; Barbara, Halifax; Linda (Steve), Meaghers Grant; Michael, Dartmouth; David, Halifax; sisters Joan (Bill), Halifax; and Rose, Halifax; grandchildren Tanya, Christopher, Gregory, Gillian, Robert, Christian, Alyssa, Rachel, Derek, Ryan, James, and Andrew; great-grandchildren Maegan, Emily, Jacob, Lauren, Joshua, and Evander. Lillian often said that her greatest achievement in life was her family.
Roman Catholic Liturgy of the Word Funeral will be held at J. A. Snow Funeral Home, Lacewood Drive, Halifax, on Monday, September 9, 10:00 a.m., Father Paul MacIntosh, Franciscans of Halifax, presiding.
Appreciation is extended to the QE II staff in ward 8.2 (Internal Medicine) for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army, a Christian organization that was recognized by Lillian as one that supports human needs.
