Janet was born in Halifax on September 6, 1954, the daughter of the late Donald & Ida (Dunphy) Byrnes. She was predeceased by her sister Debbie (Jeff Smith) and is survived by sisters Nancy (Barry Nicholson), Alice (Rick MacDonald), brothers Bruce (Marie), Leonard and Billy.
Janet was the loving wife to Brian Noonan and married for nearly 49 years, was a devoted mother to sons Andrew (James Yeomans) and Shawn. She was a proud grandmother to Isla Grace and Ryan George. Aunt to many nieces and nephews and friend to all whose lives she touched.
Janet was a wonderful wife and mother, kind and gentle in nature, and a doting grandmother. She enjoyed country living, raised her family in Denmark, NS but recently moved to Halifax to be close to them. She was fond of all things Victorian and vintage Christmases. She had an impressive collection of Royal Doulton figurines and loved to hunt for that special piece.
She loved her family very much and was host to many fun-filled family gatherings in Denmark over the years, which were enjoyed by both the Noonan and Byrnes clans. Janet enjoyed drives through the countryside with her husband, Brian. No real destination in mind, just turning left or right at the end of the driveway, not really knowing where they would end up.
She will be dearly missed and will remain forever in our hearts.
Her funeral will take place on December 16th, 2022 at the J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, NS B3S 0E1. A service will be held in the chapel at 2pm, with a reception to follow.
In honour of Janet, donations may be made to Autism NS, the Canadian Cancer Society or any preferred charity of your choosing would be appreciated.
