Dink graduated from Nova Scotia Community College as a pipe fitter and had just completed his papers as a journeyman scaffolder. Dink was a member of the Alberta Carpenters Union Local #1325. He was a jack of all trades. Dink dedicated his free time to the Needle Exchange Program as a site worker and had a great compassion for those he served. Dink loved life and lived it to the fullest. He loved sports, music, friends and most of all his family.
Survived by his wife Diane (Hall) MacDonald, Halifax; son, Gerald “Boysie”, Red Deer, AB; daughter, Katrina Howe (Robert), Dartmouth; step-son, John Bailey "The Oldest", Halifax; 3 grandchildren; 1 step-grandchild; brother, Lauchlin MacDonald, Dorchester; sisters, Beverley Corbett - Conway, Sackville, Carol Tower (Mike Marsden), Five Islands, Colleen MacDonald, Halifax; mother-in-law, Joyce Hall "Al"; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; and "Mr. Kitty".
Predeceased by brother, Robert MacDonald.
Visitation will be held 7 - 9 PM Wednesday, July 21 at Cruikshank's Halifax Funeral Home, 2032 Robie Street, Halifax. Funeral Mass will take place 2 PM Thursday, July 22 at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Halifax. Reception to follow service.
