Tsouros, George-86 of Halifax passed away in the early hours of November 27, 2021 at the QE II Victoria General. Born in Aigion, Greece he was a son of the late Dimitri and Julia (Koutsouraki) Tsouros.
George immigrated to Canada in May 1975. He was a carpenter by trade, and loved woodworking. He was a member of St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church. He also loved singing, dancing, listening to music, mathematics and playing backgammon. He adored gardening and could most often be found in his garden at any time of the year.
He is survived by his wife, Gesthimani (Effi) (Topouzoglou) Tsouros, Halifax;
son, Demetrios Tsouros (Shona Boutelier), Halifax; daughters, Julia Tsouros (Mike Katarahias), Halifax, Sofia Tsouros, Gatineau; brother, Nick Tsouros (Maria) Greece; three grandchildren and 16 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Gianni (Froso), Greece; sisters, Maria Hadjiaposidis (Kosta), Greece, Stamatia Margaritis (Dimitris), Greece, Kuriaki Christou (Kosta), Greece.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of the Transitional Care Team at the Victoria General for the loving care they provided to George.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday December 2, 2021 at 1:00pm in St. Georges Greek Orthodox Church. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church or the QE II Victoria General Transitional Care Unit.
