George LeBlanc, age 75, Timberlea passed away suddenly on Monday, April 8, in QEII Health Sciences Centre with his family by his side. Born in Yarmouth he was the son of the late John (Bona) and Regina (Cottreau) LeBlanc.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 49 years, Stephanie (Hibberd) LeBlanc; son, Jeff (Tricia), Bedford; daughters, Michelle Pineo (Paul), Ottawa and Susan Goulet (Eric), Ottawa. He was Papa to his grandchildren, who he greatly adored and who adored him back, Lindsay, Drew and Heidi Pineo, Nathalie LeBlanc and Jacob and Noah Goulet. He is also survived by his brothers, Frank (Carol), Bobby (Pat); sisters, Betty MacDonald (Bill) and Judy MacKenzie (Mike) along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He retired in 2007 after a long career with the Provincial and Federal Government as an Auditor. George was always helping others during his life and he volunteered for Meals on Wheels for many years helping deliver meals to those in need. He was still actively involved in the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul helping and supporting people who are suffering in his community. George was also a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and he was very proud of their work. He enjoyed playing Crib on Sunday nights and cards with his lifelong friends.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 14th from 2-4 pm and from 6-8 pm in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Monday April 15th in Saint Marguerite Bourgeoys Church, 18 Scholars Rd, Upper Tantallon.
