Frances Geraldine “Gerry” Scott-Smith, age 91, of Halifax, passed away at the QEII on Friday, January 5, 2018. Born on October 2, 1926 in Torbrook Mines, Annapolis Co., she was a daughter of the late Percy and Annie Maude ( Perry) Banks. She was the last surviving member of her family. She was predeceased by her first husband, Joseph Gardner Scott, her second husband, Eric Smith, sisters Dorothy and Verna, brothers Ross, Carl, Murray and Ted.
She worked as a stenographer and was employed with CMHC for 18 1/2 years, was a member of St. James Anglican Church, Joseph Howe Dr., and was an active member of the ACW. She was a kind and generous person with a great sense of humour who enjoyed social gatherings with family and friends, loved animals, and spent many hours knitting was an avid reader, had a great love of music and spent many hours playing the piano.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements by J. A. Snow Funeral Home, Lacewood Dr., Halifax. No visitation. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held at St. James Anglican Church, 2668 Joseph Howe Dr., Halifax, on Friday, January 12, 2:00pm with Reverend Rachael Parker officiating.
