Rev. Eldie Richard

Richard, Rev. Eldie 82 years, Halifax, passed away Friday, May 24, 2013 at the QEII Health Sciences Center. Born in Ituna, Saskatchewan, he was a son of the late Andrew and Marie (Ross) Richard. Eldie was an Anglican Priest having served in Parishes throughout Nova Scotia and PEI. He retired from the Canadian Navy after 25 years service and was active in the clergy for an additional 25 years. He was a member and Past Grand Master of St. John’s Masonic Lodge # 2 and member of the Eastern Star Amethyst Chapter # 28. Eldie enjoyed nature, travel and was an avid reader. He is survived by his loving wife Gwen Napier and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Visitation: 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm Tuesday at Cruikshank’s Halifax Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street. Funeral Service will be held 10 am Wednesday at Saint George’s Anglican Church, Brunswick Street, Rev. George Westhaver and Rev. James Purchase officiating. Following a reception, private family burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
