Eddy began his career as a carpenter with J.L Nichols Contracting. In 1997 he became an insulator with union local 116 and he was proud to serve as vice president for eight years until his retirement from Imperial Oil in 2013. In recent days he educated youth interested in his trade with the Nova Scotia Construction Sector Council.
Eddy was a perfectionist handyman, jack of all trades and he always had a project on the go. He was a car enthusiast and was proud of his prized Dodge Ram, for which he kept immaculate. Eddy looked forward to his annual trips to Florida and his recent cruise to Bermuda was a great memory. He loved the Leafs, the Blue Jays, family dinners and he took pleasure in sneaking treats to his grandchildren.
He had a witty sense of humor and was well known for his intense story telling. Eddy will be remembered for his large presence, confidence and booming voice. He was an honest, straight shooter, who was charming, warm and hard working. He will be missed terribly by his family and many friends.
Special thank you to Dr. Searle and to the wonderful nurses and physicians of 6.4 CCU (Coronary Care Unit).
