It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Allan R. Wilson at home in Halifax on February 10. Allan is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Susan McDonald Wilson, his loving sister Ruth Devlin (Dave), sisters-in-law and brother-in-law of both the Wilson and McDonald families.
Allan was born and raised in Carleton Place, Ontario. After graduating from University of Waterloo and Acadia University, he obtained his PhD from the University of Saskatchewan and completed his doctoral clinical training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
Allan was a loving, cherished husband, brother, and uncle. He was a compassionate psychologist throughout his 41 year career. Allan was dedicated to the well-being of his patients, staff, students, trainees, and the profession of psychology.
An avid traveller – Allan and Susan visited 30 countries in four continents.
Allan was a compassionate and gentle soul who will be fondly missed by his dear friends and his many nieces and nephews.
Allan and Susan lived in central, eastern, and western Canada as well as the southwestern US. Thirty-three years ago, they happily choose to settle in Nova Scotia.
He was predeceased by his parents - Marjorie and Allan C. Wilson, his brothers - David, Donald, and Murray, and his in-laws - Dorothy and Bruce McDonald.
According to Allan‘s wishes, there will be no service.
