Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Jane Ellen (Boudreau) Boudreau. A life long resident of Halifax, Dorothy lived most of her life on Lawrence St in Halifax and was a parishioner of St, Theresa’s Parish. Along with her sister Ina they could be seen trundling off to Mass despite the weather. She was a retired Transport Canada employee. Dorothy was afflicted with epilepsy at age 13 and even with the love and support of her family she no doubt endured the loneliness of living with the disease. Nevertheless Dorothy pushed through the many seizures and lived as full a life as possible. One particularly violent seizure in 2013 led to a new medication and Dorothy spent the remaining years episode free. Dorothy managed a successful secretarial career with Transport Canada (Marine) and retired from that organization.
The last surviving member of her immediate family she was predeceased by brother Leo, and sisters Sophie (Gerald) Horne, Ina Boudreau, and Jean Whitehead and special niece Sandra (Jon) Little. She is survived by nieces and nephews Janis (Gerald) George, Arthur (Dianne) Horne, Stephen (Karen) Whitehead, Beverly (Jim) Rees, and Michael (Sandy) Whitehead and “adopted” nephew Jon Little.
Special thanks to the staff of Maplestone Enhanced Care who took Dorothy into their hearts and provided loving care.
