Age 95 years, passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Halifax, on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. Born in Albion, PEI, on July 7, 1928, David was the son of the late Russell and Catherine (MacLeod) Moore. He is survived and will be deeply missed by his son David Beaton Moore, daughter Catherine Elan Moore (Andrew Abramowicz), and grandsons David and Matthew Abramowicz. He is also survived by brother Stanhope (Eileen) Moore.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife June (Beaton), sisters Isabel Yeo and Dell Johnson, and brother Angus Moore.
David received his degree in dentistry from Dalhousie University in 1958. He practiced dentistry for over 50 years in Fairview and Clayton Park, retiring at the age of 80, where he enjoyed working alongside his wife June.
David was a past Master of Masonic Lodge Keith No. 17, a 32nd Degree Mason in the Scottish Rite, a former Grand Piper for the Grand Lodge of Nova Scotia, and a member of the Shriners Philae Temple. He was also a long-time bagpiper with the 33rd Service Battalion Pipes and Drums.
David and June especially loved spending time with their family on the family farm in Albion, PEI, and at the cottage in Gaspereaux, PEI. David enjoyed waterskiing on St. Mary’s Bay into his eighties.
Following David’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and interment will follow at a later date in the Sturgeon Baptist Cemetery, Sturgeon, PEI. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). For on-line condolences, please visit:
