Age 67 of Halifax. It is with many broken hearts that the family of David Richard Fennell "Dave" announce his untimely passing on June 15, 2014. David was an active, vibrant man who loved his family with all of his heart. He would do anything for his family and friends, and was called upon to help with fixing things and providing guidance. He was a graduate of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, and retired from CBC in 2000 with 30 years of service.
He enjoyed spending time with his spouse, Linda Tynes, daughters, Heidi Fennell Pike (Todd Pike) and Robyn Fennell (Philip Downs). But most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren, Dylan and Evan Downs. He was predeceased by his parents, Richard "Dick" and Eileen (O'Callaghan) Fennell. Survived by brothers, Tom (Joy) Fennell, Halifax; Art (Margaret) Fennell, Sydney; and sisters, Frances (Joe) MacLean, Sydney, Judy Fennell, Calgary.
His passion was designing and building custom motorcycles, collecting classic cars, and driving his BMW convertible. Everyone will remember David "Dave" as a prankster who was creative with Photoshop. He did what he wanted, when he wanted, and how he wanted to do it; with vigor second to none.
Funeral services will be held in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, (455-0531) on Thursday, June 19 at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honour to the Children’s Wish Foundation.
