It is with great sadness that family and friends announce the passing of Connie at her home in Halifax on November 8th, 2019 at the age of 97. Born to parents Sidney and Ina (Roberts) Grover in Whitehead, Guysborough County, NS on October 1, 1922. Connie is survived by her sister-in-law, Vina Blakely (Toronto, Ont); brother-in-law Ed (Jean) Boyd (Lower Sackville); several nieces and nephews; and godchild Lorrie DeWolfe. Predeceased by her parents; husband Gordon Leonard Boyd (2007); brother-in-law Carl Boyd; and sister-in-law Viola Sampson.
Connie was a long time member of St. Matthias Anglican Church and Apostles Anglican Church, Halifax, serving on the Altar Guild and Tuesday Group of St. Matthias and the ACW of Apostles. She was an avid supporter of Chebucto Links and truly enjoyed being a member of the Chatty Crafters and the Monday night Rummoli group at her residence. Connie was a beautiful knitter and her baked goods will be truly missed. Sincere thanks to dear friend Judy Bell, 7A Palliative Care, VG Site, and Nightingale Nursing.
Cremation has taken place. Celebration of Life at Apostles Anglican Church, Bayers Rd, Halifax, on Saturday Nov 16th at 11:00am. Reception to follow in the church hall. Private family committal of ashes to be held in St. John’s Columbarium, Halifax.
