Clare Marie Burbridge

BURBRIDGE, Clare Marie – It is with deepest sadness that the family announces the passing of Clare Marie Burbridge, 77, of Halifax, on March 10, 2012, at the Halifax Infirmary Site, QEII, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Halifax in 1934, she was the daughter of the late William and Stella (Brackett) O’Connell. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband Garth, daughter Christine, and sons Tony (Darlene) Scott (Michelle), and Kent, as well as five grandchildren, Neil (Stacey), Nicole, Lindsey, Daniel (Stephanie) and Gregory. Clare enjoyed a varied and interesting working career, but the ultimate joy of her life was always her family. Clare was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her sister Eileen Logan, brothers Jack, Bernard, Laurie and William. Cremation has taken place, and at Clare’s request, there will be no visitation. Arrangements are being handled by J.A. Snow Funeral Home, Halifax (902) 455-0531. A funeral mass will take place at St. Paul’s Church, Herring Cove, on Tuesday, March 20 at 11:00am. Following the service, burial will take place in the church cemetery, Herring Cove Rd., and immediately after the service, a celebration of Clare’s life will be held in the church hall, and all family and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, Clare requests donations be made to your favourite charity.
