Martin, Carol Ann of Halifax passed away April 11, 2017, peacefully at home. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of Marie (Harrsion) Tumblin and the late Chester Tumblin. Carol was hard working all her life; she never sat still, she was always on the go. She worked at the VG/QEII for almost 50 years in various departments. Carol loved to read, and breezed through a novel in days then picked up another. If she kept all the books she had ever read, there would be enough to fill four libraries. Carol had a talent and passion for sewing and knitting. She loved to fix or create new things and was a “jack of all trades”. She could do it all, from plumbing to electrical to carpentry. She loved doing things with her life partner Laurie … bowling, going for drives, bingo, dances and playing cards. She loved being outside, mowing, weeding, planting or just walking. Spending time with her family and grandkids was most important to her and she was so very proud of the woman her daughter had become and the wonderful polite, caring individuals her grandchildren were. Survived by mother, Marie; daughter Tracy Jewers (Darren “Chuck” Moulton); sisters Cheryl (Tim) Sands, Roxann Tumblin (Michael); brother Barry Tumblin (Wanda); grandchildren Maxden (16), Jayden (14), Julianna (12) and Annalise (10), whom she dedicated her life to helping raise and was so very proud of, and several nieces and nephews whom she was very close to. Predeceased by her life partner Laurie Pye in 1999. Visitation to be held Friday April 21, 2017 from 6 – 8pm at JA Snow Funeral Home. Private family service at later date. Cremation has taken place. No flowers please. Donations may be made to charity of your choice. The family would like to thank all those who cared for and supported Carol in her fight with cancer since 2000.
