Bruce Scot Warren – age 66, of Halifax, passed away in the presence of family on October 22, 2019 in the Victoria General Hospital from pulmonary fibrosis. Bruce was born on February 4th, 1953 in Spryfield, NS to Charles A. Warren and Mavis C. (Warren) Kennedy. He worked for the coast guard for 31 years, retiring at 55. He was active in curling, skiing, golfing, riding his motorcycle, and he travelled extensively in his retirement.
Bruce was very handy, he built his retirement home, and was the go-to family member for assistance with home improvement and landscaping projects. He was very proud of his sons, and always kept in contact with his large extended family. Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Crystal (Woodin), sons Todd (Jacqueline) and Kyle (Rebecca); mother Mavis (Warren) Kennedy, and brothers Gary (Cheryl), Gerald, Peter (Anne), and Glen (Darlene), brothers-in-law Dan (Lynn), Ron (Colleen), and Lindsay (Alex) Woodin as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bruce was predeceased by his father, Charles A. Warren, and in-laws Hector and Irene Woodin. Cremation has taken place, and there will be no visitation by request. The Celebration of Life will take place on Friday November 1st, 2019 at 1pm at the Best Western Chocolate Lake Hotel, Armdale (Lakeview Room). Burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bruce’s memory may be made to the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or a charity of your choice.
