I`ve never met Ben, but I heard about him from Annalee. We met in Bruxelles and became friends. She lived in Enschede for a while. I wonder how she`s doing and I wish you all the best!

I went to School with Ben and although we were never friends I do remember him fondly. I was a friend of his sister Annalee. My thoughts are with you in this difficult time.

Ben and I met when we were five years old.  My family moved to Simcoe Place in 1974 where Ben and I became instant pals.  We used to play hide and seek, soccer, and read Archie comics together.  He loved his Saturday morning cartoon shows and we would watch them with great excitement.  I remember he was great at playing pool among many, many  other things.  He was a genuinely kind and generous guy who loved to laugh and always was a good friend.   I shall miss him always.  To his family and friends I wish to extend sincere and profound condolences.  He was taken too soon.

My condolences to Sharon and Melvin.  I am so sorry that the entire family can't be there with you.  You are both in my thoughts.

This man was the gentlest soul and had the kindest heart who grew up within the friendship I had with his mother, Pat.  We spoke weekly, he shared his funny little stories and his love for his two cats.  He was a part of my life for so many years and I will miss his voice, his uniqueness and his visits.

I am very sorry to hear of Ben's passing.  I met Ben at Dartmouth Community College after I graduated from High School, we took the 1 year Accounting Program together.  He was such a sweet, gentle man and good friend.  My sincere condolences.  Rest in Peace Ben.

Benjamin was a childhood friend of mine.  I grew up in the 1970s on Simcoe Place a few houses up the street from him.   I remember hide-and-go seek, birthday parties, trips to Kearney Lake, our mothers doing crafts together, and, best of all, Ben's old Commodore VIC-20, which was one of the first computers I ever saw.  I left Halifax decades ago, but I always glad to know that Ben, like me, developed a love of movies.  Losing Benjamin is like losing part of my childhood.  Goodbye Benjamin.  I miss those evenings in the 70s in your backyard on that great wooden swing.

My brother John phoned from Ontario to tell me of Ben's untimely death.  Ben's mother Pat Heit was our first cousin.  Ben was a gentle soul, a friend to all who knew him, and we are saddened by his sudden passing.

We were very sad to hear about Ben's untimely death. Our sincerest condolences go out to Melvin and his family and Ben's friends. A special link to our family's East Coast roots is now missing. We will remember him fondly.

I, and my family, were among Ben's thousands of clients over the years.  He was always cheerful and welcomed movie chats, cat talk and from our second visit, remembered our names. Rest in Peace Ben. All of the front store staff at the Hammonds Plains Pharmacy are going to miss you like crazy. He was our favourite customer, always a big ol' smile on his face and a great fellow to talk to! Our deepest sympathies at this time. I still cannot believe that he's gone.... I was so upset I never got to say goodbye. He is a wonderful person and I hope he watches over us. <3

Please accept my sincere condolences.  i first met Ben while we were both working at Clayton Park Video.  I think it may have been his first job in the video business.  He loved it and I wasn't surprised when he went on to own his own store.  He was a great guy and will truly be missed by all who knew him.

We are so very sorry to know that dear Ben has passed away. It's been like a
 " Bad Dream ". We had such great visits on the phone and we were looking
forward to him coming to Falmouth some day soon, to visit and to meet our
grandsons. He was very fond of " Little People ". His mum and I go back 
 " Forever " and shared some relatives in common. I told Ben that we were
 " Kissing cousins ". It's such a loss to so many of us. He will always stay in our memories and hearts. Such a Gentle, Caring and Loving young man. He truly was a " Gentleman ". Loved him and will miss him .
