Age 89, Audrey peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones at the QEII Hospital in Halifax, NS on November 19, 2014. She was born in Harrow, England to Katherine (Munn) and Alfred Tom Treneer. During the war she met a soldier who asked her to come to Canada and in 1946, she did. Shortly thereafter they wed and began a family. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Harry Scully and survived by her four children, Karen Schnare (Bryce), Sally Horne (Maurice), Debby Pettis (Greg), and Michael, as well as her 11 grandchildren (Angela, Ryan, Kristen, Erika, Aaron, Hilary, Christopher, Corinne, Christopher, Catherine and Victoria) and 11 great-grandchildren - all of whom adored her.
Her family fondly remembers years of visiting Nanny at the lovely home she shared with Harry in Eastport Medway, known to everyone simply as The Country. Lovingly known among us as the Little Weather Girl, she always knew the forecast and was happiest when the weather was hot. She was a true sun worshiper and enjoyed escaping to Barbados and Florida with Harry, and in more recent years to PEI.
Our little Nanny loved to knit hats for newborns at the IWK and socialize at Pub Night with her friends at Cameron Hall. Always stylish, and forever sweet, kind and patient. She was just...gorgeous. A special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the QEII Hospital for making her comfortable in her final days. Dr. Koller’s and Brenda Doherty’s tact and kindness will forever be remembered.
The service will be held on Saturday, November 22nd 2014 at 6 pm in J.A.Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the IWK neonatal department.
