Anne was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland on December 28, 1943 and was the daughter of the late Bill Singleton and Lillian Watters of Belfast Northern Ireland. Anne met her husband Bob on a trip to Montreal and it was love at first sight. Anne loved to travel to Europe, the Mediterranean and the Caribbean with Bob and they always made lasting friendships wherever they went. She loved Skyping with her girlfriends and close friends and family, and watching the British show Coronation Street, as well as reading books from her favorite authors Nora Roberts and Danielle Steele.
Anne had a great sense of humor and often had a funny Irish saying ready for any situation. But above all else, she had a huge heart, always put others first, and had her amazing smile and laugh ready to make your day brighter. She will be missed by her family and friends who are forever grateful for the selfless, unconditional love and happiness she gave. Her family takes solace that her Irish eyes are smiling down on all from heaven.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 56 years Bob, her two sons, Ian and Neil and their significant others Paula and Melonie, as well as her two grandchildren Kirsten and Payton, and her half sister Barbara Watters in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Anne will be laid to rest at a private burial in Hudson, Quebec at St. James Anglican Church, where she and Bob were married. A celebration of her life will be held in Halifax, Nova Scotia at a later date.
In memory of her kind and gentle Irish heart, we wish 'Suaimhneas síoraí dá hanam' ('Eternal peace' to her soul) O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.
In lieu of flowers, and to honor Anne’s selfless devotion to helping family and others, donations can be made on Anne’s behalf to the BLT Community Pantry (contact [email protected] )
