Sugarman, Daniel Arthur, PhD, 84, of Paramus, NJ, July 3rd, 2015. Beloved husband of Barbara; devoted father of Dr. Jeremy Sugarman, Rhona Kerans and Amy Zuckerman; loving father-in-law of Jim Peirce, Terry Kerans and Ken Zuckerman; proud grandfather of Sam, Matthew, Harry and Max; cherished brother, uncle, and friend.
He graduated from the Bronx High School of Science, NYU, and Columbia and became an Emeritus Professor at William Paterson University. An author of numerous books and articles containing practical psychological advice, he practiced as a Clinical Psychologist in both Bergen and Passaic Counties. He was active at the Wayne YMHA and was a long time board member of Jewish Family Services. He was admired for his humor, compassion, selflessness and generosity.
Funeral service will be held 11am on Sunday July 5th at Gutterman and Musicant, 402 Park Street, Hackensack, NJ. Interment will follow at the Cedar Park /Beth El Cemetery, Paramus, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dan’s memory to: American Psychological Foundation, Jewish Family Services, Temple Beth Or, or a charity of your choice.
