Dianne grew up in Waukegan, Illinois and graduated from Waukegan High School and the College of Lake County nursing program. She worked as a devoted and caring nurse and then worked on the Abbott Laboratories Clinical Research team, where she met some of her closest friends. She played softball and volleyball for many years, and loved being active with her children.
In July of 2003, Dianne received a double-lung transplant from a woman in Iowa named Aleta. It was because of Aleta’s generous gift of life that Dianne enjoyed 11 ½ years of “extra” time with her family. This gift afforded her 4,025 days of love and blessings, and Dianne put every single day to good use. She packed in loads of time with her children and grandchildren, made lasting holiday memories, took her family on Disney vacations, traveled to Arizona with her cousins and best friend, spent countless hours at school programs and sporting events, and made thousands of beautiful memories in the small moments sprinkled between the big ones.
Dianne will be remembered for her beautiful smile and her generous heart. She was a fiercely devoted grandma who made her grandchildren feel like they were the center of the universe. She was a loyal White Sox fan and Green Bay Packers season ticket holder. She was an animal lover and dog whisperer and loved fostering rescue dogs while they waited for forever homes. The void she leaves is truly too great to comprehend.
Dianne leaves behind her children (both of whom were her favorite), Angela (Ramon) Moreno and Brian Seymour, and her beloved grandchildren Maya Dianne, Evan Del and Joel Vincent. She is also survived by her Uncle Bill (Jane) Dowden, Aunt Betty (Bill) Potochnik, cousins Doug (Iris) Dowden, Linda (Brian) Dowden, Rob (Cheryl) Potochnik, and Rick (Kathy) Potochnik. She will be deeply missed by her in-laws, Lois Wilson, Steve (Sue) Seymour and Michael Seymour. She had a special relationship with her nephew Steve Seymour and niece Kelly Seymour (who were her children before she had children), and was a loving aunt to many others. She will be missed dearly by her best friend Trudy Gomez and a host of other dear friends. Her best boys, her dogs Sonny and Norman, will be lost without her.
She joins in Heaven her mother, Virginia Holt, father, Norman Holt, brother, Larry Holt, ex-husband/dear friend, Kevin Seymour, brother-in-law, Doug Seymour, sister-in-law Karen Seymour, dear aunt Reva Holt, and her deeply missed dog, Murray.
