Teresa Bronislawa Szytniewska

It is with great sadness and much love that we say goodbye to our beloved Mama and Babcia, who passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023 at the age of 87. Loving mother of Brygida Mieczynska (Aleksander) and Jaroslaw Szytniewski (Urszula). Sister of Mariola Piontkowska (Tadeusz). Cherished grandmother of Dorota (Ron), Claudia (Rafal), Kamil (Nikki) and Alexander (Crystal). Beloved great grandmother to six great grandchildren and three great grand fur kids. Teresa is predeceased by her loving husband Zbigniew.

Teresa was born in Grudziandz, Poland and immigrated to Canada in 1995 after the death of her husband. She was full of life and love. Teresa had a fierce personality. Surviving WWII set her up for an incredible life of strength, determination and self-worth. An amazing cook and lover of company, she always did everything to make you feel at home. More than anything she loved her family. She has touched many hearts and always made everyone laugh. She will be missed by all and forgotten by none.

Our family wishes to thank the outstanding doctors and nurses at Guelph General Hospital for the excellent care they provided during her last days.

Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin Street North, Guelph (519-822-4731). Family invite friends to a Visitation on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 10:30am at Sacred Heart Church, 98 Alice Street, Guelph. Burial at Marymount Catholic Cemetery, 5400 Highway 6 North, Guelph. A Reception will follow in the funeral home's Fellowship Lounge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada in honour and memory of Teresa Szytniewska.
