It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ruth Clayton on October 23, 2023, at the age of 95.
Loving wife to Garnet Clayton of 32 years. Beloved mother of David, Terry, Ruth Anne Roth, Jim, John and Geoff. Cherished grandmother to Andrew, Shannon Leguizamon, Mathew, Spencer, Cameron, Elizabeth Roth, Lisa Gorgi, Joseph Roth, Dan, Emma, Ryan, Sarah and Oliver Clayton-Newell. Cherished great grandmother to Eva Leguizamon, Sam Leguizamon, Emma Thompson-Clayton, Exander Mayot, Larenne Mayot, Ellie Brezovic, Lina Brezovic, Charlotte, Jackson and Thomas. Dear sister of the late Gordon Chadder, Grace Howie, Joyce Seifried, Dorothy Clayton and Isabelle McNally. Predeceased by her father, John Chadder and her mother, Mary Chadder.
Ruth was a devoted mother of six who sacrificed much for her children. She was a former Salvation Army Officer ( minister ) and subsequently served in many roles at the Guelph Corps including administration, finance and as ultimately as Director of Family Services. She also spent many years as the church pianist at the Guelph Citadel Corps and in her later years earned her Grade 8 Conservatory Certificate in Piano.
She will be greatly missed by all of her friends and extended family.

As per Ruth’s wishes, private cremation has taken place.
