Mary Becker

Becker, Mary – Passed away peacefully, on 8 March, 2012, in her 95th year.Born near Kiev, Ukraine on 1 November, 1917, to Daniel and Bertha Beitler, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Rev. Gerhardt Becker, in 2008, and her eldest son, Garry, in 2010. Mary is survived by Sylvia Harris (Lanny), John Becker and Jane Corbett: grandchildren Cecilia and Andrew Harris, Matthew Becker (Joanne), Julie Swift (Jim), Caroline Rossi(Ozzie); and great grandchildren, Giovanni, Matthew and James. Mary was well-known for her gardening skills, baking, and her hospitality to all. The Becker family will receive friends on Friday, 16 March, 2012, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 210 Silvercreek Pkwy, North, Guelph. Her funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s on Saturday, 17 March at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the Memorial Fund of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Guelph, the Canadian Lutheran World Relief Foundation, or LOFT Community Service of Toronto, 15 Toronto St, Toronto, ON M5C 2E3 would be appreciated.
