Leo Rice

Rice, Leo Joseph -- Peacefully, at the Guelph General Hospital, on Sunday, January 27, 2013. Leo Joseph Rice, in his 74th year, was the beloved husband and best friend, for 49 years, of Helen (Officer) Rice. He was the loving father of Sherri-Lyn and her husband Lonnie Kenwell of Singhampton, John and his wife Erika of Penetanguishene, and Paul and his wife Vicki-Ann of Fergus. Leo was the proud grandfather of Jes, Jessica, Jerilyn, Jillian, Jacob, Madeline, Brady, and Ryan, and great-grandfather of Logan, Sheldon, Payton, and Parker. He was the dear brother of Theresa Rice and Mildred Liszon (Bill). Leo is predeceased by his parents Mary and John Rice, and by his brother Leonard. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, where the family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 from 2-4 and 7- 9 p.m. A Vigil for Leo will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 3:45 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Joseph's Church 409 Paisley Rd., Guelph, on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 10 a.m. Interment in St. Mary's and St. Joseph's Cemetery, Elora. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family.
