Passed away peacefully, in her 83rd year, surrounded with love at the Guelph General Hospital, on Monday, April 9, 2018. Grace (nee Marcotte) LeBlanc was the beloved wife of Reginald LeBlanc for 60 years. She was the dear mother of Claude (Danilo), Gloria, Marie (Ron) and Annette (Bohdan) and the loving grandmother of Stephanie, Hannah, Theresa (Jason),
Angela (Jon), James, Geoffrey (Lisa), Christopher (Sarah), Joanna and Ryan, and the special great-grandmother of Bryan, Teddy, Shaymus, Everett, Owen, Evan, Carson, Chase, Jasper and Tristan. Grace is survived by siblings Bob, Dianna (Barry) and Pat (Kim) and by an extended large and loving family of nieces and nephews. She will always be fondly remembered by Sally, Paul, Jeffrey and Lois. Grace was predeceased by her parents Emmett and Mary (nee Goodchild) Marcotte and by her sister Rita and her brother Don.
Grace was devoted to her entire family. She was proud of her Metis heritage and was an active member of the Metis Nation of Ontario. She enjoyed researching her roots and published “On My Mother’s Side” on her 75th birthday. For many years she worked at OMAFRA Central Milk Testing Lab and proudly served as President of her Local OPSEU Union for 12 years.
In their retirement, Grace and Reg traveled extensively in North America for seventeen years.
Friends are invited to meet with the family at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 1-3 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow in the chapel at 3 p.m. At a later date, a private entombment of Grace’s ashes will take place at Our Lady Immaculate Mausoleum, Marymount Cemetery, Guelph. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Cardiac Fitness Association (Breslau) or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family.
