Roberta C. Driscoll

Roberta C. Driscoll, aged 86, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024, at Mt. Carmel Grove City. She was the beloved wife of Richard "Dick" Driscoll for 71 years. Born to Thomas B. and Rose M. (Robbins) Raines, Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, sister Sally (Jack) Jackson, Joyce Sams, and a granddaughter, Katrina Bobo. She is survived by her husband, Richard "Dick" Driscoll, children Rick (Judy) Driscoll, Jeff (Bobbi) Driscoll, Kim (Richard) Draughon, and Jim (Roni) Driscoll, along with 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Thomas B. (Cindy) Raines, brother-in-law Ed Sams, and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Roberta was a woman of many passions and dedicated over 10 thousand hours to volunteering at COSI, earning her orange converse shoes as recognition for her remarkable service. Her commitment to COSI was just one reflection of her lifelong dedication to serving others.

Family was at the core of Roberta's being, and she treasured every moment spent with her loved ones. Dick was her steadfast companion. Together, they shared a deep love and created cherished memories with their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Roberta had a particular fondness for the Ohio State Buckeyes and Columbus Blue Jackets and enjoyed watching their games with her husband. She would proudly wear buckeye jewelry, OSU clothing, and socks, displaying her unwavering support for her favorite team.

Christmas held a special place in Roberta's heart, and she embraced the holiday spirit wholeheartedly. Her favorite saying, "Christmas is coming," always brought a smile to her face and warmed the hearts of those around her.

Roberta's faith was an essential part of her life, and she believed in Jesus Christ. She found solace in her faith and is now at peace in His presence.

Roberta's zest for life was evident in her hobbies and interests, from cross-stitching and square dancing to her passion for reading Amish novels. She was the president of “TOPS” organization #269 and the President of the Central High School alumni association.

Roberta was a member of Avondale United Methodist Church, but later joined the membership at Crossroads United Methodist Church and attended there for over 20 years. Throughout her life, she enjoyed camping, traveling, and going on bus trips and cruises. She was an active member of the West High School Band Parent association and served as a Den Mother.

Roberta retired after 29 years of dedicated service with the State of Ohio Department of Liquor Control, where she was the Secretary to the District Office and the Chief of Stores to the Department of Liquor Control. Her professionalism and commitment left a lasting impact on all who worked with her.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024, from 4-8 pm at Schoedinger Grove City, 4242 Hoover Rd. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Crossroads United Methodist Church, 1100 S. Hague Ave., Columbus, OH, at 10 am with Pastor Deb Stevens officiating. Interment will follow at Kingwood Memorial Park in Lewis Center Ohio. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the church in Roberta’s memory.

Roberta's legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
