Mahala Josephine Montgomery, age 84, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Mt. Carmel East hospital. She was born April 19, 1938 in Magoffin Count, Kentucky to the late Buren and Ida Mae (Conley) Jackson. She married the love of her life Earsel Montgomery on August 3, 1957. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Earsel; sisters, Dorothy, Mary, Annalou, and Ruby; brothers, Dormus, Arnold, Audie, Marvin, Hanson, and Orville. Josephine is survived by her daughters, Tammy Jean Montgomery, Christine (James) Buckner, and Shena (Eric) Dobbs; grandchildren, Josh (Stephanie) Smith, Cody Buckner, Taylor (Christopher) Johnson, Spencer Dobbs, and Jacob Dobbs; great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Jameson; and step-great-grandson, Jason; sister, Dixie (Donald) Abernathy; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2023 at Schoedinger Grove City, 4242 Hoover Rd., (HOOVER RD AT KINGSTON AVE), Grove City.
