August 5, 1938 was a beautiful day in Winchester, Tennessee; made all the more so by the introduction to God’s green earth to James Lowell Laws. Jim (Lowell, Ol’Jim, Uncle Lolo, Old Pal) proceeded to sprout and grow and propagate and prosper in the love of his dear father WW and mother Belle and sisters Louise and Minnie, and his wife of 66 years Barbara, and children Jeff (Jeanne), Greg (Becky), Stan (Joy), Peni (Jeff) and grandchildren Lukas(Jen) , Logan(Dan), Zane, Jake, Will, Chris and greatgrandchild Lucy, and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, friends, colleagues, neighbors, clients, associates, apprentices, boy scouts, buckeye ushers, students, choir fellows, softball teams, pickers, quartets, country ham butchers, peach pie makers and countless corn bread & bean and biscuit & redeye gravy dinners over his long and endearing life that closed on November 16, 2024.
Jim was known as a man to offer his smile readily, his compliment freely, his hand in greeting, his knowledge as requested, his roof when needed, his advice when warranted, his sports preferences directly and his prayers in abundance. Many are the warm embraces all enjoyed; and his family humbly ask you to remember his legacy and join them for a tribute.
Please join Jim and bring a smile with you when we convene on November 22, 2024 at Grove City Nazarene Church with an engagement visitation beginning at 11:00 AM, a life celebration at 1:00 PM and a luncheon to follow in the church hall. We love you, Dad. Memorial contributions may be made to a children's charity of donor's choice.
