William John Coyle

William John Coyle 83, a resident of Grosse Pointe Farms passed away Friday Aug 20th. He was born July 22, 1938 in Detroit to Dr. Roy J. and Dorothy F. Coyle. Bill grew up in Windsor, Ontario and went to Assumption High School, class of 1956. He graduated from the University of Windsor then went on to attend the University of Detroit Mercy Law School, he was admitted to the bar in 1965. Bill worked at the Detroit Corporation Council, Friend of the Court and the United States Army Corps of Engineers legal department.

A lifelong love of classic cars took him too many car shows where he proudly displayed his 1957 Thunderbird, which he owned for 58 years. He loved trips to London and Ilderton Ontario to visit family and friends.

Bill is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jeanne Cunningham, son William J. Coyle Jr (Sara), daughter Elizabeth Coyle and grandsons Jack, Jamie and Charlie.

A visitation for William will be held Monday, August 30, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue, Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan 48236.

A family service and burial will be held at a later date at St George’s Anglican Church, Denfield, Ontario Canada.
