Ronald P. Schram age 75, died peacefully on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Ron was born on April 19, 1935 in Detroit, the son of Walter and Cecelia Schram. He grew up on Detroit's eastside and graduated from St. Philip Neri High School. He continued his education and graduated from the Michigan Business Institute with a Bachelors Degree. After high school Ron served his country in the United States Army. He married Elaine Pelltier on February 7, 1959 also at St. Philip Neri Church. Mr. Schram retired from Chrysler's Sterling Heights Stamping Plant in 2000 after 15 years of service as an accountant. He enjoyed his loving family, bowling, old movies, jokes, trivia and playing the piano. Ron was a deeply religious man and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and Amvets. Mr. Schram is survived by his wife of 52 years, Elaine; his eight children, Susan Schram, Carolyn Schram, Michael Schram (Debbie), Elizabeth Salame (John), John Schram (Jill), Ellen Nysen (Jerome), Robert Schram, and William Schram (Kristin); thirteen grandchildren, Ben and Sara Schram, John, Joel, Justin and Jeremy Salame, Marena Schram and Jaylin and Joe Sharp, Brooke, Piper and Jack Nysen, and Serina Schram; his great granddaughter, Autumn Daniel-Salame; siblings, Jack Schram (Maryanne), Bill Schram, and the late Maryanne Schram.; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 9:00 pm Thursday at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road in Grosse Pointe Woods. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Schram will lie instate at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 21620 Greater Mack at Overlake in St. Clair Shores from 9:30 a.m. Friday morning until mass begins at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Msgr. G. Michael Bugarin will officiate. A private family interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Roseville.
