Dear Bob, As you look down from Heaven, as Bob Hope sings, Thanks for the Memories, I remember many, many good times with you, Bobber. Ill save my favorite recollection for last, for it is probably the best and most characteristic. I remember our Travel Team adventures at Eastpointe. Bob Bridges called us the C Team. Screw him. I remember, sipping Boombas at Antonios, after the Friday night mixers. I remember the many many USTA matches when we were teammates and the subsequent beer and burger at Gilberts. I also remember the many USTA successes we had, as we traveled to Lansing, Kalamazoo and Indianapolis for playoff matches. I remember, when you and your sweet wife, Mary Lou, partied at our house on Allard yakking and drinking until 5:00 am. I went to work at 5:15 am that day. Ohhhhhh! I remember the many Bay Valley tournaments in Bay City. I think that our contingent closed down the Bird Cage every night! I remember your lovely cottage in Lewiston. I remember stopping at Coldie Park on the Au Sable for a quick one before meeting Mary Lou in town at Talleys. I remember your new tennis court in the middle of the woods at your cottage. You were most proud of this wonder in the middle of nowhere and rightfully so. I remember your love of potatoes and pork sausage. Every meal HAD to have potatoes! Ha,ha. I vividly remember our fabulous trip to Ireland. While you were a Kraut-nik, you loved Irish music, especially, My Irish Eyes Are Smiling. I remember playing with you on the grass tennis court at Bantry Bay, County Cork. The dang ball never bounced! I remember one of your favorite expressions, Up youre a$$, Devine. Ha,ha. I remember when you aced the pro, Tom Gray, at the Pro-Am at Wimbledon, with a vicious side-spin serve that went into the wall on Court 9! He looked up and seemed to exclaim, what the he** was that? And finally and perhaps my most precious memory----it was the first time that I met you, if you recall. It was at the old Lakeshore Tennis House on Marter in St. Clair Shores. I remember observing a player on the courts who was wearing boxer shorts. Boxer shorts? Your boxer shorts stuck out about 1 inch BELOW your tennis shorts! Ha,ha,ha. Subsequently and thereafter, I never met a more non-pretentious person, whom I long considered my second father. I love you Bob and say hello to St. Peter for me at the Pearly Gates! Dear Mary Lou and family, I just heard about my dear frineds passing, and am so sorry to hear it. I am so happy I have so many wonderful memories of him. He never said "no" to me, whether it was to sub, or play in a tournament - or - tournaments, or help me with taxes! He was a wonderful, giving man and it was my pleasure to have known him (and you)! Mary Lou & Family..... We had many happy times with Bob, and will always remember him that way. The cottage, his golf game, euchre playing, and of course our taxes. Wish we were in Michigan to attend his funeral. You are all in our prayers.

WE ARE SO SORRY TO HEAR OF BOB'S SUDDEN PASSING. WE LOVED PLAYING TENNIS WITH HIM AND SOCIALIZING IN ALL THE GOOD TIMES FOR THE LAST 30 YEARS. ALSO THANKS WERE TO BOB FOR HELPING ME IN MY DAD'S ESTATE. WE LOVE YOU MARY LOU ALSO AND KNOW YOU ALWAYS HAVE OUR FRIENDSHIP.

There has always been an Uncle Bob until now. I remember the days on Senica with Grandpa Henze. I remember Uncle Bob coming over our house on Burns and taking me for a car ride when I asked him. My best memories were when he would take me fly fishing with him on the Au Sable River. Although I was to young to fly fish, I none the less enjoyed watching him cast the line, as it shimmered against the morning sun. When my family moved to Edmore (one block from Henze Real Estate), Bob would frequently walk over for lunch. And, of course, there were the fun Summer parties he and Aunt Mary Lou would host on Warrington Ct. - slot machine and all. Bob stepped in when my fathers' difficulties hit; and how we held a memberable wake at the Lafayette Coney Island on my father's burial day (how many people can say that?). These memories will live on! David
