Marie Jose Durfee

Marie’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching them grow through the years. She also enjoyed gardening, crocheting, making rosaries and traveling to Florida to visit her sister Helen. She loved dogs especially her current dog Buddy who brought her much love, comfort and joy the past several years.

She is survived by two sons, John (Susan) and Norm (Donna); three daughters, Mary (Frank), Anne (Rick), and Kathleen (Sarah); twelve grandchildren, Lynn, David, Shawn, Carrie, Megan, Ryan. Jason, Joey, Sara, Shannon, Brendan, and Luke; thirteen great-grandchildren, Donovan, Lorelei, Gavin, Brooke, Erinn, Carter, Maggie, Alice, Joshua, Jaya, Maya, Max and Parker. She is also survived by many extended family and close friends. Marie is also preceded in death by her parents, as well as her loving husband Norman and her sister Helen.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 7, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in A.H. Peters Funeral Home (20705 Mack Avenue, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236) with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, with instate to begin after 9:30 a.m. Private Burial will be held at West Berlin Cemetery in Allentown.
