Gloria Beatrice Brock was born in Detroit, Michigan, on March 4, 1932, to David and Florence (Schneieder) Brock. She grew up in Detroit with her parents and 7 siblings and graduated from East Commerce High School in 1950 where she learned secretarial skills. After graduation her first job was at an insurance company and later became an executive secretary at J.L. Hudson’s department store where she worked until her first child was born.
Gloria and Al moved to Warren in 1959 where they raised their 3 children. Family was very important to Gloria and she was so proud of her children and grandchildren. She was always interested in her ancestry and began tracing her genealogy in 1975 and loved sharing the information she discovered with everyone. She was always available with a helping hand, a kind word or card and put everyone else before herself. She was a charter member of Peace Lutheran Church in Warren and current member of St. Paul Lutheran in Sterling Heights.
Gloria is survived by her husband Albert of 64 years and her three children Wendy (Don Ukrainec), Richard (Peggy), and Robert (Sheri) and 6 grandchildren Anthony, Dominic, Adam, Christopher, Natalee, Nicolas, and her brother Donald Brock.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be given to Ascension St. John and Providence Foundations (Hospice & Neurology), St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sterling Heights or Peace Lutheran Church in Warren.
Instate will be held at 9:30 AM on Saturday, September 19, 2020 until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 42681 Hayes Road, Sterling Heights. Burial will take place on Tuesday, September 22, at 2:30 PM at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.
