Frank James Fileccia, age 75, passed away on May 30, 2024 after his long, courageous battle. Beloved husband to Janis Fileccia for 53 years. Cherished dad to Martha Long and Jimmy Fileccia. Adored Bubba to Stephanie (Will) Constantine, Steven (Alexis) Guy, Kaylin (Brian) Fileccia, Mason Cagalingan, Nathan Baldwin-Guy, Willie Constantine, and Cole Constantine. Dear brother to John Kovach. Loving son to Martha Caruso, the late Jimmie Fileccia, and step-son to the late Joseph Kovach.
Frank was born on April 16, 1949 in Detroit, Michigan to Martha Caruso and the late Jimmie Fileccia. He was employed by Chrysler for 34 years as a quality control engineer.
Frank was very outgoing and personable, always making friends wherever he went. His uplifting spirit is what kept him and his family afloat during his 14 year battle with cancer. He was a true fighter that could rise above any challenge that was put in front of him.
He was so wise beyond his years and was always willing to learn new things, from home improvements and landscaping to automotive tinkering; hence, earning himself the nickname of “Frank of All Trades”.
Frank adored the outdoors and was a keen fisherman and hunter. He also loved all types of music and even played the drums. Frank also was a huge fan of any Detroit sports team, passing that trait along to his kids and grandkids. In his spare time, Frank loved to travel by ship or plane to Florida, New Mexico, Italy, and Europe. He also enjoyed spending time at the coffee house, playing bocce ball, and Italian card games.
Above all, what Frank loved most of all was his family, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids. He was the king of “Dad/Bubba Jokes”, always there to make everyone laugh. He was always in the stands, whistling and cheering each of them on in any activity that they were doing. He was truly the Very Best Bubba.
