Eugene Skowronski was born in Detroit on July 16, 1929 the son of Casimer and Louise Skowronski. He was a graduate of St. Martin High School. Eugene married Margaret OMeara in 1953 and together they raised three children, Karen, Gerard and Diane. He retired in 1991 at age 62 from the Campbell-Ewald Advertising Agency as Vice-President of product information for Chevy Truck. For many years in the nineteen sixties, seventies and eighties he was a member of the mens choir at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, then a member of St. Hubert Catholic Church for 22 years. He was a volunteer historian at Stahls Auto Museum and a collector of many books on automotive. Eugene was a doting grandfather and had grand dogs as well. He enjoyed camping, travelling Alaska throughout Michigan, Ireland and Alaskan cruises as well. Eugene is survived by his children Karen Ciambella (Tony), Diane Wahl (Scott), and Gerard Skowronski (the late Laura); his grandchildren Laura (David), Donna (Sean), Paul and Gina and great- grandpa of David and Cole. He is predeceased by his beloved Margaret (2007) and his parents Cass and Louise. Visitation for Eugene will take place on Sunday from 2 until 9 pm with a scripture service 7 :00 pm at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue, Grosse Pointe Woods. He will lie in state on Monday from 10:30 am until time of Mass 11:00 am at St. Hubert Catholic Church, 38775 Prentiss, Harrison Township. Military Honors will take place at St. Hubert following Mass. The interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery. The family has requested memorial contributions be directed to the IHM Mother House, 610 W. Elm, Monroe, MI 48162
