David M Stander

David M Stander, a resident of Grosse Pointe Woods, passed away on Tuesday, May 16th at the age of 86. David was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Mel and June Stander. David was the beloved husband of Mary Stander, who predeceased him, for 55 years and business partner for 30 years. They first met in 1961 at a ski dance at the United Dairy Workers Hall and were married in 1962. David and Mary co-owned and started Stander Research Associates in 1978. The company provided new product planning and strategic marketing research for everything from food and healthcare to car clinics. David retired at the age of 75. He and his family enjoyed a condo up north in Glen Arbor near the Crystal River and Lake Michigan.

Cherished father of Jeffrey (Trisha), Douglas (Debra), and Stephen (Caterina) Stander. Grandfather to Olivia (Michael) Dallaire, Jack (Faith), Ava, Matthew, Rachel, Jonathan, Nicholas, and Ashley Stander. Great Grandfather to Vivienne Dallaire. David is also survived by his brother Rick (Pat) Stander.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 18th from 4 pm to 9 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236.

David will lie instate Friday, May 19th from 10:30 am until time of service at 11:00 am at Grosse Pointe Memorial Church, 16 Lake Shore Drive, Grosse Pointe Farms, MI 48236
