I worked with Bob for nine yrs at Famous Maintenance,He will be deeply missed and thought of! God will take great care of him..Till we meet again,Peace!

I am so shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Bob, especially at such a young age. I believe the first time I met him (through dating Warnie) he was on a baseball field and I am so happy to find out he was able to pursue a career in a field (no pun intended) that he loved. He was obviously well respected and admired in the community and I am sure his memory and legacy will never be forgotten by all of those lives that he touched. My deepest sympathy to everyone in the Comfort family and to Bob's friends and the community of Harper Woods for their loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

To the family of Bob, I did not know Bob very well but I am the "lady who walks the white dogs" in Harper woods, i have heard thats what they call me. Bob made it a point when i approached him at the pet store and acknowledged that his business is down the street, he was so kind to me. Bob talked to me on numerous occasions with Maggie in tow, whom which he doted on. I think this is a very sad upset and he will be missed by many. I did not realize how many ties he had to the communiy, only that he was a very kind man and i know he is in heaven now. To the family, I am sorry for your loss, he was great.

I met Bob through his good friend [my cousin] Tom Lindblade in '03. I must have attended a dozen White Sox - Tigers games here in Chicago with them whenever the Tigers were here for a weekend series. Bob was one of the most knowledgable Tigers fans and baseball fans I've had the pleasure of attending a game with and talking baseball with. We usually had a pretty tight race going between the Sox and Tigers. On Bob's last Tigers game visit to Chicago last August, he presented me with a TV4 Tigers promotional glass that he picked up somewhere, just for me. One side had the Tiger chewing on a KC banner, the other, the Tiger chewing on a White Sox banner. Thanks for the thoughtful gift Bob, you will be remembered and missed. I'll hoist a beer to you in that glass the first time the Tigers play the Sox this year. When Tom comes to town this year, I'm sure we'll be thinking of Bob. I'll even hope the Tigers win those games, but only this year! I know Tom will dearly miss Bob. On Tom's next drive here to see a Sox - Tigers game, it may eerily feel like Bob is with him. As longer sun and warm breezes started to be part of recent days many of us turned our thoughts toward softball again. Softball thoughts in our community always included looking forward to seeing Bob and the great Famous Maintenance team he so skillfully assembled and administered each year. What a true gift it was for me to play for and against Bob for so many seasons. Fond memories of Bob will fill the air around many sandlots for a very long time to come. The service for Bob on Monday morning was a wonderful tribute to a wonderful man. The sentiments offered by Bob's brother, beautiful niece and the good Rev touched me deeply. Dearest Bob,my heart is broken.We have best friends and have loved each other for the past 18 years.You were a wonderful stepfather to Jason,Mike and Nick.They all learned lifetime values from you.I cannot say anything that has not already been said about you.Well deserved accolades and praise. My heart is filled with sadness at the loss of such a fine man well ahead of his time, not unlike our mutual heroes, Richard Collier and Christopher Reeve. From the early days of being neighbors on Morang, to the fantasy time-travel escapes we shared at the annual "Somewhere In Time" Weekends, you were always so sweet and generous. I will miss our long talks and shared experiences! May God bless you, my friend, until we meet again "somewhere in time".

I'm so grateful to have known Bob, and to have been part of his Little League family in the 90s. Not only did he set the bar for me as a volunteer and board member, he was one of the nicest and most caring people I've ever known. If everyone emulated his best qualities, the world would be a far better place. My heart is with all of his friends and family today.

I am so sad to hear of Bob's passing. I came to know Bob from a business realationship that grew into a friendship of 19 years. He will be missed very much. He was a good man.

I'm so sorry. It might not seem like it, but I have been thinking of you, and all the Comfort's very often for so many years. I have and will forever miss you. The best times of my life were hangin with my cousins and our family. I can still remember times at Grama & Grampa's.(a house or apartment that was upstairs or something)then the Projects and Uncle Jerry's, and your house in Harper Woods, upstairs in your attic room trading baseball cards with you and Werner. I remember your Dad taking us to Tiger games. For sure, some of the best times of my life. One day I hope to be watching an allstar game of allstar game's with you up there. I Have known Bob for at least 30 years. First through Harper Woods Little League with my boys when they were small and then as his Dental Hygienist for probably just as long. I consider him more af a friend than as a patient. He was genuially a nice person, always upbeat & positive with a smile on his face --- never an unkind word to say about anyone!!!!!! He will be missed and fondly remembered forever. To his family, I hope that after reading all of these memorials about their son, brother, uncle and seeing how many lives he touched that it will bring you some peace and help ease the pain you are going through right now. My Wife Mary and I were in disbelief and so sad when we were told that Bob passed away, what a Shocker! Bob and I had a lot of fun back in the old Harper Woods High School and we were good friends and after Graduation we kind of drifted apart but later I would see Bob around esp.when he bought his business " Famous Maintenance " and we would get together and have a few beers and talk about School days and how things had changed in Harper Woods and how we hardly saw anyone from School anymore because most everyone we knew had moved out and later I would see him at Little League games and it was always good to talk with Bob, he always was upbeat and positive and we always tried to solve the Worlds problems. Fun Times. A friend of ours Dated Bob for several months and even though they did not really hit it off Romantically, they remained good Friends and She too is deeply saddened by his Death. Bob, you Died way way too young my Friend and I will miss seeing you around the City and sitting down and BSing with you about the great fun we had in School and the Worlds problems and Little League and so on and so on. You're a good Guy Bob and I sure will miss you and I know that the Lord has special plans for you my Friend. Since earlier this week, I haven't been able to stop thinking about my early youth,with my friend Bob. Our young little sports group were insepearable...Bobby, Warny, John,myself and the Barons...Baseball,Baseball cards and Hockey...little did we know that that passion and organizational skills started there. I'm happy to say Bobby was my friend...and always will be....

Bob, Thank you for allowing the boys to have one finale year of Little League by having a Senior League team in 2005. They even became State champs. Please look in on Brian, Alex, and Steve up there.

Bob was my high school baseball coach. His passion for the america's pastime resonated throughout Harper Woods for over four decades. This prince of a man truly cared about Harper Woods and will be missed by all that had the priveledge of knowing him.

I am so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. My heart goes out to those closest to him. Since returning to Harper Woods, I've enjoyed seeing that Bob has been such a positive influence for this community.

Words cannot express the shock and heartache I feel having learned this morning of Bob's untimely passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to Bob's family and all of his many friends. As a proud member of Bob's first Giants team, I've known him for 37 years and enjoyed spending time with him whevever I've come back to the old ballpark for a visit. Harper Woods Little League has been blessed with many, many wonderful volunteers over the years, my late father Dick Keenan included, but there have been few giants, no pun intended. In the history of Harper Woods Little League, Bob Comfort is in the company of Ben Nicholich and Walt Dieterle in their devotion to the youth of Harper Woods, dedication to the national passtime and now at the right hand of the Creator. Litle Leaguers of the past, present and future will miss you. Former Giants, family and friends will think of you everytime they smell fresh-cut grass and cooking hotdogs; hear the sounds of baseballs being caught and hit; and see the empty picnic bench next to the concession stand.

Bob, You were one of a kind !!! Your shoes will never be filled in HW. I am proud to say my sons had the privilege of knowing you and learning from you. All the children and families of HW will dearly miss you.

It is with great sadness that I express my deepest sympathy to the entire Comfort family. Bob has left us way too soon. I would also like to express my gratitude to the Comfort family for sharing Bob with Harper Woods. He devoted his time and his energies to the youth of Harper Woods and along the way guided, shaped and inspired many a young man and young woman. Bob's steady presence will remain with all who knew him. The world, especially, Harper Woods was a better place because of Bob. From now on, when I visit the park to "talk" to my dad, I have a feeling it will be a three way conversation. I will miss Bob. He truly was a role model, a caring individual and just plain fun to be around. Rest in peace, Bob, you earned it.

Mary Jo, Mary Sue, Warnie, Joanie & Family and Friends ~ I am so saddened to hear of your loss. He'll always be "Bobby" to me since as we grew older we didn't see much of each other. I'll always remember the vacations in Houghton Lake when we were kids....and the way we had so much fun fighting! A couple instances come to mind....once several of us were out in a rowboat fishing when Bobby fell (?) in and a ruckus ensued with him trying to get back into the boat without tipping us all over. By the time he finally got back into the boat and pulled up his line, there was a fish on it! Another time (and probably a different year) while the Moms were in town all of the kids got into a big fight that took place both inside and out and I remember Bobby being so mad about being soaked that he threw a bucket of water, then a bucket of sand into the cabin! But, being the good sport he always was, he did help clean it up. He was like my favorite bratty little brother and the world won't be as happy of a place without him. To All the Comforts, My heart weeps for you. Growing up with all of you was one of the best parts of my life. Being Bobby's associate in crime was such fun. I try to remember how many windows we had to pay for in the cabin at the lake. And how many waitresses we scared the heck out of when we all came trooping in together. To go home at such a young age is heart breaking. I hold you tightly in my thoughts and my heart.

Greatest memories of childhood were shared a great deal with you, on the HW Little League fields. Proud to have known you, and thank you for your guidance God Bless.

I was so shocked to hear of Bob's passing. He was such a "coach" in every sense of the word. He loved sports and loved to talk about them. There must be a game in heaven that God wants him to see. If I ever get there, he will have to tell me all about it.

Bob is one the kindest men I have ever known. He always had something nice to say.Every time he would drive by and stop while in his truck he would be so proud of his dog Maggie.He would tell me she's the best dog ever even though she wouldn't stop barking.I'll miss those moments and so many more.You'll be missed!

I am proud to have known Bob and the Comfort family for over 35 years and have such happy memories that will be forever in my heart. Bobs laughter will never be forgotten. It's difficult to say how much you meant to our family. You helped my son become the man he is today and were a "dad" to so many others. At your service on Wednesday, the pastor said that you didn't have children of your own. Maybe accurate but not true -- you had hundreds of children and not all of them were youngsters. The way you lived your life was a lesson to all of us. No one is happy with the quantity of your life, but the quality was and is outstanding. We love you, Bob, and we always will.

My dearest friend. You will be with me forever. Thank you for being the right hand to my left.My mentor, my brother. The city of Harper Woods was your domain and the things you did were always for the welfare of all your children and your city. Over 40 years of service to HWLL you helped raise hundreds of kids. You went above and beyond.You made me proud to call you friend. I LOVE YOU BOB and I promise to make you proud and carry on your ways.

Bob, Cannot find the words to express the loss I feel. The City of Harper Woods/Harper Woods Little League will never be the same. We will do our best to keep your community spirit alive. You meant so much to so many. I will always hear your laugh and picture you standing at the right field fence of LL#2 (your diamond) talking to anybody and everybody.

Bob, You are the reason I know how to keep score!! My brother was on a few of your teams and I came to the games to "see the cute boys". Well ... you put me to work!! LOL You said I was your official unofficial score keeper!!! I played summer ball for HW when I was younger, played in high school, and am still playing 20 years after graduating! Once it's in your blood, it's always in your blood. HWLL ran through your veins, man!!!! You did great things for HW and all who crossed your path there. Many were touched by knowing you, your shorts, your yells, and that amazing smile! And so it goes; "Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your masterâ€™s happiness!"

Bob was a great guy-He was Harper Woods Little League. Even though my children were not involved in baseball over the years, we still saw Bob and he came to the restaurant where I worked for breakfast once in a while. It gave him a chance to have breakfast and relax and we would talk about what was going on in Harper Woods. He was always very nice and he will always be remembered by all that was forunate enough to know him.
