Howard L. Jones

Mr. Howard L. Jones, age 67 of McDonough, passed away Friday, June 19, 2015 at Piedmont Henry Hospital. Mr. Jones was born August 21, 1947. He enjoyed playing High School Football and was an avid Georgia Bulldogs and Braves fan. Mr. Jones was a member of Life in The Spirit Full Gospel Church in McDonough where he held a position on the church council and was the Sunday school superintendent. He also was an ordained minister and enjoyed serving in the jail ministry. Mr. Jones enjoyed gardening and cooking, but he enjoyed spending time with his family the most. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his father, Leamon Wise Jones. Survivors include his wife, Sandra C. Jones of McDonough; mother, Mary Helen Scott Jones of Barnesville; brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Sharon Jones of Barnesville; sisters, Linda Ann Bottoms of Jackson, Judy Williams of Thomaston; children, Scott and Mandy Batchelor of Thomaston, Michael Batchelor of McDonough, Drew Batchelor of Stockbridge, Jonathan Batchelor of Locust Grove; 11 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Jones will be on Sunday, June 21, 2015 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
