He fought cancer for 4 ½ months, although only recently positively identified.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Esther Taylor of Gresham, Oregon.
Steve is survived by his sister Marilyn Marjama/ her husband Marvin and their children Marcus/ his wife Sarah, Heather Wilbur/her husband Chris and great neice Katlin. Also brother Greg/wife Diane and step mom Kathie Taylor who is such an integral part of the family.
Steve passed with Greg and Diane by his side in their home.
Steve attended Glenfair and Wilkes Grade Schools and his Freshman and Sophomore years at Reynolds High School although he graduated from Skyline High School in Salt Lake City, Utah due to his Dad’s work transfers. But he was “Always a Lancer”!! He learned to snow ski during that period at Alta and Park City ski resorts in Utah.
He loved outdoor activities! Camping, fishing, hiking and he owned a tournament ski boat which he moored at his floating home on the mighty Columbia. He also enjoyed fishing with Walleye Willie of the Dalles, OR. Thanks Willie!!
Steve graduated from San Jose City College with his Associates Degree in Business Management while making The Dean’s list.
He returned to “East County” in the early 70’s and soon entered the Architectural Coatings Industry as a dealer representative.
He retired at 62 from Miller Paint Company as their Dealer Rep for 21 years. He was known for his caring and one who was “True to his Word”!!
In retirement he made trips to Charlotte, NC and Richmond, VA. To explore and attend Nascar Races. He especially enjoyed Virginia due to excursions to Washington DC, Colonial Williamsburg and Virginia Beach!!
Steve especially enjoyed his weekly “tee times” with his “Lancer Buddies”!! He loved you guys … and “gals”!!
Steve had no children but had a special love for his nephew Marcus, neice Heather and great niece Katlin.
Steves friends are too numerous to list…. But “Lancers RA special group”! A special thanks to all of you !!
The family requests that any remembrances be in support of the Salvation Army.
