Linda Sue Otness

Linda Sue Otness, 66 of Gresham OR, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024. She was born on September 18, 1958 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Thomas and Ruby Kurtz. She graduated from Penn High School in Mishawaka, Indiana and received her Associate Degree from Warner Pacific University in Portland, Oregon. Linda married Kurt John Otness on May 17, 1980 in Portland, Oregon.

Linda worked as a grade-school teacher for over 30 years including Portland Christian, Parkrose School District and Portland Public Schools. Linda attended Good Shepherd Community Church – she loved Jesus, caring for others, being a servant and an overall lover of life. Linda loved gardening and cooking – but most all she loved being a Grandma.

Linda is survived by her husband Kurt Otness of Gresham OR; daughter Brynn Krause (Derek) of Portland OR; sons John Otness (Anjelica) of Camas WA and Jacob Otness of Gresham OR; sisters Connie Matis (Joe) of Greenwood IN and Sherry Hofer (Brent) of Oregon City OR; mother Ruby Kurtz of Portland OR; grandson Theodore Krause, granddaughter Pepper Otness and two other grandchildren on the way.

A Celebration of Linda’s Life will be at 11:00am on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Good Shepherd Community Church, 28986 SE Haley Road in Boring Oregon. Arrangements entrusted to Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, Oregon.
