Leetta was born in Huntsville, WA on December 30, 1915 and was the daughter of Edgar and Ada (Davis) Cobb. She graduated from High School in Utah and returned to Washington where she married Leslie Arthur Yost on November 24, 1935 in Centralia, Washington. They moved to Utah and later moved to Portland in 1939. They built a home in 1960 in East County where they lived for over thirty years. Leetta worked as homemaker and a seamstress and was a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she was the relief society president and visiting teacher. She also worked at the Bellevue and Portland Temples.
Leetta had many hobbies. She enjoyed sewing, traveling, candy making, cake decorating, gardening, and quilting. She also enjoyed camping and tying flies for her husband. Her greatest love was her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Naomi Kosta of Sierra Vista, AZ, Fay Iltz of Redmond, Linda Cochran of Lafayette, OR and Sherri Stewart of Rockaway, OR, brothers, Raymond Cobb of Seattle, Marvin Cobb of Centralia, and Wesley Cobb of Washington and sister, Maxine Thornhill of Palm Springs along with 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Yost, son, Jack Yost and brother, Phil Cobb.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 8, 2011 at 10:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Maplewood Ward in Portland. Entombment will follow at Lincoln Memorial Park Mausoleum. Contributions May be made in memory of Leetta to the American Heart Association. Bateman Carroll Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
