John Geary Moran

John Geary Moran, 82, of Gresham, Oregon, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2013 in Clackamas, Oregon. Born in Great Falls, Montana on April 3, 1931 to Mike and Viola Moran. Geary was raised in Anaconda, MT and worked summers on the Geary Ranch in Helmville, MT.

After serving in the US Marine Corps., he married Delores Jean Anderson on March 17, 1956. They raised six children, moving from Harlowton, Montana to Portland, Oregon in 1967. Geary was an educator and administrator in the Centennial and Gresham-Barlow School districts, until he retired in 1989.

In his retirement years he enjoyed golf with his close friends, traveling, cooking and being with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his six children, Mike Moran, Michelle Deaton, Colleen Russell, Kelly Moran, Patrick Moran and Brigette Cleverley. He is also survived by his 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and his ex-wife Delores Moran. The memorial service will be held on Monday, July 29, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Henry’s Catholic Church located at 346 NW 1st St. in Gresham, Oregon with a reception to follow at the church.
